This video was made for my video editing class as a junior in high school. The assignment here was to make a commercial that was school related. I chose to make a video about the boys soccer team. They don’t have the best record and have a very small team. They are a fun group of athletes and love to play soccer together. I wanted this to be taken as a more comical video than a serious one.
I am probably the proudest of getting these boys to cooperate long enough to be able to gather footage of them. I am proud of my cutting to close up of Ben’s feet while juggling. I feel like I made it a smooth transition.
Some challenges I faced were figuring out the order of clips and how I wanted the commercial to flow. I had to rearrange things several times until I came up with the voice over idea and fitting the video along with it. Another challenge I faced was finding music.
If I would do this project again I might focus more time prior to filming in order to better plan the video. I think my overall prepration could have been improved. I also could focus more attention to the sound production.
